Your HOA board is responsible for contracting a trash pickup service for the residents of Kings Crossing Patio HOA. Through a bid process in 2018, Best Trash was chosen to be our trash pickup service starting in January of 2019.
Residents are billed quarterly for the service. In January 2023, Best Trash raised their rate to $79.21. This increase was in accordance with their contract due to the CPI increase of 5.8%. They also requested and billed an additional increase of 5% for a rate of $84.14. At that time we disapproved their additional 5% and requested that they refund it to the property owners. They again requested that we consider this additional amount as their expenses due to the pandemic, labor shortages, freeze in 21, supply chain disruptions and rising fuel costs had greatly increased their cost of operations. We had KAM do some shopping of other trash services and could not find any that provided the same service for this price. Therefore, we have approved the additional rate increase to be effective June 1, 2023, in the amount of $84.14. We do plan to shop this contract this fall to see if we can get a better price.
Trash pickup days in Kings Crossing Patio HOA are Wednesday and Saturday. Household trash can be left near the garage door for pickup. Yard waste and anything bulky needs to be at the curb.
Trash can be set out no earlier than 6pm the day before pickup. Yard waste can be taken by your yard service or can be placed out by the curb the evening before. All trash needs to be in a container or bag and neither can weigh more than 40 pounds.
